Health Services

The health of individuals is the building block behind the strength of a society. To empower the community and allow them to work toward developing their own country, basic health care requirements must be met. RISE GHI aims to increase access to quality healthcare where it is unaffordable.

Rural Health System Development

The goal of the Rural Health System Development is to bring state of the art healthcare to impoverished communities in developing countries by providing access to reliable diagnostic tools, to train qualified health care professionals as well as provide up-to-date reference resources for staff and volunteers.  Additionally, we aim to provide employment opportunities for the local community and train local health care professionals on standards of practice in the U.S and other developed nations. These accomplishments are being fulfilled currently with our first project in Nigeria through the RISE Clinic Nigeria. This clinic was built by the Godwin & Patricia Okeke Foundation, while the RISE GHI is contributing by helping develop programs to ensure clinic operations are at international standards. What is the RISE Clinic Nigeria?

The RISE Clinic Nigeria (RCN) is a non-profit collaboration between the RISE Global Health Initiative in San Diego, California and the Godwin & Patricia Okeke Foundation in Nigeria. Through expansion of health education, health advocacy of sanitary practices, and provision of basic health services, the RCN hopes to improve the quality of life for the people of Nigeria.

Located in Adazi Ani in Anambra State, Nigeria, the RCN will serve as a multidisciplinary healthcare facility as well as a clinical training site for local and international students practicing in the healthcare profession. The RISE Clinic provides the community with general health services with emphasis in maternal health, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and malaria and HIV prevention. Critically ill patients will be evaluated and referred to nearby hospitals to be cared for at a subsidized rate. This state-of-the-art two-winged structure will be used for patient evaluation, health screening, health education seminars and other outreach events throughout the year. The top floor of the buildings will house international volunteers and service organizations during their extended stay at the clinic. The clinic will operate year round and will be available to everyone in the community.

The RISE Clinic Nigeria Divisions

There are five major divisions of the RCN including the Community Outreach Division, Education Division, Clinical Services Division, Diagnostic Services Division, and Clinical Research Division.
